Mitsubishi Electric PLC programming in Kenya: FX5U, FX3U, Q, L and iQ-R
Mitsubishi Electric PLC programming by on-site engineers in Kenya and across Africa: FX5U, FX3U, Q, L and iQ-R. GX Works3 (iQ-F, fault finding, upgrades and full documentation.
Mitsubishi FX PLCs are on thousands of Asian-built machines in Kenyan factories: injection moulding, packaging, textile, printing and food machines. We upload, back up, modify and troubleshoot Mitsubishi PLC programs, and replace obsolete FX models.
Mitsubishi Electric PLCs we work on
- MELSEC iQ-F (FX5U, FX5UC, FX5UJ): compact PLCs for machines
- FX3U, FX3G and older FX: the most common PLCs on imported machines
- Q series and L series: modular PLCs for lines
- MELSEC iQ-R: high-performance modular PLCs
Software: GX Works3 (iQ-F, iQ-R), GX Works2 (FX3, Q, L), GX Developer for legacy. Networks: CC-Link and CC-Link IE, Ethernet (SLMP), Modbus.
Mitsubishi Electric PLC services
- Uploading and documenting programs from machines with no backup
- Changing sequences, timers, counters and recipes
- FX1N, FX2N and FX3 to FX5U replacement and program conversion
- Connecting PLCs to SCADA or data collection over Ethernet
Signs your PLC system needs attention
- The machine stops with faults nobody can explain, or the only person who understood the program has left
- There is no current backup of the program, or the backup does not match what is running
- Spare CPUs and I/O cards are discontinued, expensive or months away
- Operators work around the sequence by hand because the logic no longer matches the process
- You want production data, remote access or new functions that the old program cannot provide
How we approach a PLC job
- Upload and back up the running program and hardware configuration before any change.
- Document the I/O and the sequence with your operators, so everyone agrees what the machine must do.
- Write or modify the logic offline, structured and commented, and test it with simulation where possible.
- Commission on site: test every input, output, interlock and alarm, then run under real production load.
- Hand over the final program, I/O list and drawings, and train your technicians on fault finding.
Tips from our engineers
Back up imported machines when new
Machine suppliers are often far away. Saving the PLC program when the machine arrives prevents long stoppages later.
Watch for special modules
When replacing an FX2N, analogue, positioning and communication modules need equivalents on the FX5U. Check them before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Can you program Mitsubishi FX PLCs?
Yes. We program FX5U, FX3U, FX3G and older FX PLCs as well as Q, L and iQ-R series.
Can you replace an FX2N PLC?
Yes. We convert the program to an FX5U and check every module and wire.
