Mitsubishi Electric PLC, GOT HMI and inverter programming in Kenya: FX5U, FX3U, iQ-R

Programming MELSEC iQ-F, FX, Q and iQ-R PLCs with GX Works, GOT2000 screens with GT Designer3 and FR inverters with FR Configurator2.

Mitsubishi Electric FX PLCs are found on countless Asian-built machines in Kenyan factories, from plastic moulding and packaging to textile and printing lines. We program, back up, troubleshoot and upgrade Mitsubishi PLCs, GOT touch screens and FR inverters, so imported machines keep running long after the supplier has gone.

What we do on Mitsubishi Electric systems

  • Uploading and documenting programs on machines supplied without backups
  • Modifying sequences, timers and recipes on existing machines
  • Replacing obsolete FX1 and FX2N PLCs with FX5U, converting the program
  • GOT screen changes: new pages, alarms, recipes and language changes
  • Inverter setup and replacement, including parameter transfer between models

How we work on your Mitsubishi Electric system

  1. Back up first. Before we touch anything, we upload and save the existing program, HMI project and drive parameters, so the machine can always be returned to how it was.
  2. Understand the process. We walk the machine with your operators and maintenance team, and agree in writing what the change or new program must do.
  3. Program and test offline. Logic, screens and drive settings are prepared and checked before site work, to keep downtime short.
  4. Commission on site. We test every input, output, interlock and alarm with your team, then run the machine under real load.
  5. Hand over properly. You receive the final, commented program, HMI project, drive parameter files, I/O list and drawings, plus training for your technicians.

Practical tips from our engineers

Back up imported machines on day one

Many machines arrive with no program backup and supplier support far away. Uploading and saving the PLC and GOT programs when the machine is new avoids a long stoppage later.

Plan FX2N replacements

Older FX series PLCs are no longer produced. GX Works can convert most programs to the FX5U, but the wiring and special modules need careful checking.

Copy inverter parameters before replacing

FR Configurator2 reads and writes complete parameter sets, so a replacement inverter behaves exactly like the old one.
